Cloud Callout: Ever thought of being a part of the caring community? Here at URSA we can make that happen, placing people where both they and the clients will benefit.

Why volunteer for URSA:

  • We have 19 different programs, something to suit everyone's skill
  • We have both special events and weekly appointments
  • We have highly trained staff to support and train our volunteers
  • We have a wholistic approach, good for all and everyone
  • Visible results for your efforts
  • With an hour of your time you can change a client's whole week
  • We have respect for our clients as people and our volunteers for their time

What do our volunteers do?

  • Take our clients to the movies
  • Visit in their homes for coffee
  • Sing with our clients in choirs
  • Help out in our groups, baking, gardening and crafts
  • Go on day trips with the clients and staff to festivals and sports events
  • Anything that helps our clients have fulfilled lives

Who can volunteer for us?

  • Anyone over the age of 18
  • Groups of people together, music groups, businesses, churches

Yes it is as easy as that, the only thing we require is a current police information check for both the safety of our clients and all people who work or volunteer with us. We can process this through URSA for you.

Meet some of our care bears:

  • Virginia has been working at one of our group homes for over a year, every week she goes out with some of our clients, usually to a movie and it's a great chance to visit.
Virginia has also helped with our Motorcycle Awareness Ride by raising pledges for us. A real moment of achievement for Virginia was getting a response from a client she has worked with for a year.
  • Tim is a relatively new volunteer to join the Care Bears, he has great musical ability and a great want to help others, and he is currently visiting with one our clients, building a relationship before he accompanies him to sign in a choir, one of our client's personal goals.
