Summer Student Position - Rehabilitation Facilitator
Assisting the specialized rehabilitation assistant to implement specific brain injury strategies developed by the occupational and physical therapist. This will include physical therapy programs, cognitive strategies such as visual learning tools, video biographies for the clients and specific recreational and exercise programs. The individual will help plan and implement group sessions and activity based events suck as Stampede celebrations, picnics, URSA Games, bowling, camping trips and excursions throughout Calgary.
Summer Student Position - Camp Leader
Working within a camp setting, the individual will assist with care of severely handicapped persons (feeding, minor health care ect). In addition they will learn to assess individuals and as part of a team develop and implement programs. A special function will be to develop, coordinate and participate in summertime recreational activities and arrange the annual Family BBQ.
Summer Student Position -Community Rehabilitation Worker
Working within a group home setting, the individual will assist with the care and training of severely handicapped children (feeding, minor health care, ect). In addition they will learn to assess individuals and as part of a team develop and implement recreational programs for clients as well as provide the clients community inclusion.
